AXON wins Pick Hit Award for the Synapse HSU20/21 High-end Up-Converter at NAB 2006.

Udenhout, The Netherlands (01 May 2006) -- Axon Digital Design B.V., a specialist in broadcast equipment for the conversion and processing of audio and video signals, is proud to announce that the Synapse HSU20/21 up-converter has been awarded with the prestigious Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award at the NAB.

The industry award is allocated to companies that offer a technological innovation in the broadcast field. Criteria include technological improvement over previous products, appropriateness of pricing and a positive impact on everyday work life. An independent group of anonymous judges, all active in post-production, network and satellite industries, acknowledged the HSU20/21 up converter based on Teranex® algorithms for its multi-purpose ingenuity.

“We are very pleased to receive this award and recognition for our innovative up converter.”, says Harry Kanters, Commercial Director of Axon Digital Design. “The award-winning HSU20/21 is part of our Teranex© powered modular HD format converter range that offer a processing capability that is unequalled in the industry. We engineered this range in reply to our customers who expressed the need for powerful converters in compact environments such as OB-Vans and Master Control Rooms.”

The HSU20 and HSU21 are engineered for applications where the best up-conversion quality is required. The HSU21 further provides for 16 channels of audio swapping. The up-converters can optionally be equipped with advanced noise reduction and allows users to generate HD content from a non-ideal source.
